- In 2006, 1,292 lorries made the 40 mile journey from Ronseal headquarters to an off-site warehouse in Wakefield. In November 2007, Ronseal opened a 90,000 square foot (16,000 pallet space) warehouse on site. The warehouse has taken 1,292 lorries off the road and nullified over 51,680 road miles per year.
- Twenty years ago, 80% of Ronseal products were solvent-based, compared to 20% today.
- Ronseal aims to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 165 tonnes a year by working with the Carbon Trust. This is an overall reduction in energy consumption by 7%, the equivalent of 28,500 air miles (www.carbonify.com), which is the equivalent to over one plane journey around the world.
- From March 2008, a new solvent recovery facility has been in operation. This has reduced solvent waste by a minimum of 75% compared to the levels in 2006. All of the recovered solvent is reused in the manufacturing process of new products.
