How to Prepare a Wall for Repainting
Hairline cracks, stains and strong colours can all be a problem when preparing to decorate.
Our Triple Action Basecoat permanently covers hairline cracks, blocks stains and masks strong colours. It's a 3 in 1 solution.
Before you start, cover the floor with dust sheets and open all doors and windows to get some air in the room. Make sure walls and ceilings are clean, dry and free from damp or mould.
If there are any holes, fill them in using the appropriate Ronseal Smooth Finish Filler.
Make sure you stir the product well before loading a short pile emulsion roller. Apply the basecoat in long, even strokes, finishing in a vertical direction. Ensure the paint is distributed evenly and into all the cracks. Roll out the basecoat liberally to ensure cracks won't reappear.
When you're done, leave the areas to dry for 4 hours before decorating. If you have any areas that need a touch up, wait until the basecoat is fully dry and then just re-apply.
It's that simple. Your walls are now crack, stain and colour free, ready for that finishing touch.
