Beware!!! by Alastair

Used this product many times before on fresh wood, but do not use it on wood previously treated with external varnish. a chemical reaction occurs which 'consumes' the wood. I guess this is a chemical reaction between the water based varnish against the oil based varnish.

Colours are not true to life by Caz-does-diy

I purchased a tin of satin finish interior varnish in Birch because the painted wooden sample in my local B&Q store portrayed a colour which was perfect for the job I was doing. 4 coats later the colour is nowhere close to the colour on the sample and my table is ruined until i have the time and energy to sand it all back to bare wood. Although the product is good i would Not recommend It because the colours are not true To life. Wilko does a similar product for less than half the price and its twice as good!

Prep – Previously Varnished Wood: Ensure all surfaces are free from wax, grease and oil by wiping with white spirit on a damp cloth. Remove any loose, flaking or peeling coatings.
