How to achieve the Perfect Finish on your floor
Perfect Finish Diamond Hard Floor Varnish
Step 1
Previously varnished and bare floors should be thoroughly sanded with 120 grade abrasive paper to provide a key for the varnish to adhere to. The quickest option is to hire a sanding machine from a tool hire shop. Follow the hire instructions, always test sanding. Fill any holes with Ronseal Multi Purpose Wood Filler, allow the dust to settle and then vacuum. Wipe over with white spirit and allow to dry thoroughly.
Step 2
Following the on-pack instructions, construct the Perfect Finish Floor Pad and dip the pad evenly into the varnish, ensuring that only the flock is covered and that the foam remains dry.
Step 3
Starting in the corner of the room furthest from the door, pull the Perfect Finish Floor Pad towards you in the direction of the woodgrain - never push it away from you. The Perfect Finish Floor Pad holds more varnish than a brush so you will be able to apply the floor varnish in long smooth strokes before reloading.
When you get near to the other side of the room turn the Perfect Finish Floor Pad around and apply from the other end, feathering to in to meet coated areas. Repeat this process working along 2 floorboards at a time. Apply 2/3 coats, allowing 2 hours between coats. Before the final coat, lightly rub down with 240 grade abrasive paper, wipe over with a damp cloth and allow to dry thoroughly.
